About The Project

With a network approaching 250 partners, 100Kin10—a non-profit that supports partners in recruiting 100,000 STEM teachers over 10 years—were in search of a way to optimize how they empower these partners. Using a human-centered approach, our team at Openbox intereviewed numerous stakeholders and pulled out four key need states that exist within the network: Collaboration, Mentorship, Capacity Building, and Thought Leadership. With the partners’ needs in mind (and input from 100Kin10), we developed several new offerings for the partner network and delivered and implementation framework as a webpage toolkit.

I was a consultant on the team and contributed to every stage of the project. We conducted interviews with employees of 100kin10, partner network representatives, ran workshops and playtest, and contributed to the content strategy of the toolkit website

Ideation Workshop

At the midpoint of our engagement, we brought the 100Kin10 team into the process and co-designed solutions around key partner personas. The Field Guide defined partner typologies using the animals of the animal kingdom as a metaphor. Once the client team was brought up to speed on each typology’s actions, motivations, and needs, we workshoped potential solutions to optimize their offerings to be more partner-centric.

Implementation Toolkit

In order to ensure our strategic recommendations would make it off the shelf and reach the partner network, our team roadmapped implementation for the 100Kin10 team to activate the new offerings. Throught the framework of Set Up, Activation, Assessment and Tools, each offerings contained a step-by-step guide to activation along with key designed touchpoints that could be plugged into the implementation outreach.
